It’s been on and off since I last went to the gym, which was two,days before I left for Connecticon 2019, so I’m starting out light than increasing the weights a little each day this is me again finally back at doing my upside down crunches without the weight hopefully I’ll be able to go back to using the 10lbs weight again soon so practice and patience and I I’ll be able to workout like I did before Connecticon

IS IT ALWAYS A 'BAD THING' WHEN ONE EXPERIENCES PAIN?

Now.. Go ahead tell me. What comes first in your mind when you experience PAIN (be it a fresh pain you never felt before... or even pain that you had felt the past 10 years)?

You see.. Pain is subjective. Everyone has their own different perspectives of pain. Some see it as bad (like DAMAGING bad), while some see it as good (we all requires some kind of stressor in order to grow more resilient).

Perhaps this could even be WHY all our recovery rate is different.. Each and one of us have our sort of 'comfort zone', or even level of tolerance what we want to consider 'okay' to push, and what we 'don't consider okay' to push.

It all goes back to what context you're referring your pain to.. because really.. PAIN can be either good or bad..

Sadly, way too often, people would like to associate pain with something bad, or it can even be that something is 'damaged'.

Is that really the case?

What if in order for YOU to become STRONGER, or get past the annoying feeling you feel today, it's a prerequisite for you to endure this pain to a certain extent, with a safe threshold for you to explore..

Just like how our mum has to endure some sort of pain, before giving birth to us? There comes a price after that, and what people didn't see was, how rewarding things could be, if it's done right!

So my question for you is.. Would you have taken the leap of faith to FIRST accept pain as it is and slowly focus on managing, to work your way to achieve a longer term gains?

Comp Prep has officially begun 😤 About 15ish weeks out as of today, happy with the starting point.
Currently low bar squatting 2x a week, deadlifting 2x a week and competition style benching 3x a week. Technical proficiency as well as hypertrophy is the goal of the next 5 weeks or so.
This competition I’ll be competing up a weight class with the 105 bois, depending on the result (and some other factors) may see me in this class sooner than originally anticipated. Keen to compete with the new JLM boys @thecicc and @mrc_coaching_ .Feeling very strong with the extra cals I get to make use of.
Shown is Wednesday’s Deadlifts, 180 for 5s, Thursday’s Squats 158 for 6s, and Saturday’s Bench, 108 for 4s. Easy-ish starting point, keen to 🅱️uild.

We got through our first full week back to school! All I wanted to do after work was go home and take a long nap but I dragged my tired ass to the gym and did my thing.
This is our most taxing workout of the week, mostly because I really, really hate single leg work. It's amazing in what it does for your body, and amazing how miserable I am when I'm doing it. 🤣🤣🤣 I swear I was hitting depth on these squats! The camera angle was weird (as I pointed out when I glanced down at the camera and noted how funny I looked). Watching the video I can see my struggle with positioning my split squats but I can't seem to figure out how to correct it. I was also losing my form/control at the very bottom. I've got work to do!
If you happen to listen with the sound on you will hear Rian and I debating whether his bones weigh 20 lbs and how much human bones actually weigh in general. Spoiler alert: we were definitely both wrong. But he was wronger. 😂

I do this sequence prior to every squat or deadlift session. Or even if not training, it’s also great to do each day for building stability of the spine.
This is my variation of the big 3. The bird dogs and curl ups can be held up to 10 sec each rep. Planks can be 15 seconds each repeated twice.

update on physique...since being back home to AZ and working.. I lost about 7 pounds 😒 yeaaaaahh I'm not pretty happy about it. My intention wasnt to loose weight. I was trying to grow these quad and glutes. Which I notice there slowly going away. I walk 95% of the time at work nonstop. & I try to eat as much as I can. But my body likes to burn the fuck out of it 🤦‍♀️ so I guess for now I'll have to deal with it. Once I go back to Cali is time to grow again 🍑😜
