We’re told to honor the past, live in the present, and hope for the future. I find that in different parts of the world, I feel stronger pulls towards one over the others. As diligent as I try to be to stay present, when I walk through the streets of Lyon, I am consumed by the past. Wondering how old everything is, what it was like back then, how I would have felt being around during that time, what influences I would feel, what discoveries I could witness, and how it would feel to live without computers. The next time I visit a part of the world that makes me feel that way, I am going to shoot film. Now there’s a statement that honors the past, lives in my present and is part of my hope for the future.
