The EAT Lancet report recommends a diet that is ostensibly better for the planet & our health. In one simple IG post, Diana Rodgers @sustainabledish explains how wrong-headed the report is. ・・・
Instead of a bowl of corn flakes with almond milk as  EAT Lancet would like me to have, I’m eating a nutrient dense, satiating, healthy breakfast featuring more beef than they want me to eat all week. In this one meal, I’m getting 149% vitamin C, 119% B12, 271% vitamin K, 110% zinc, and a broad, complete spectrum of amino acids. I’ll be full until about 2pm and I’ll have the energy to lift heavy things and actually build muscle.
Don’t let them tell you that eating less than a 1/4 ounce of beef per day is better for your health and the planet. I’ll be working on my book today, defending the nutritional, environmental and ethical case for better meat. And I’ll probably be cooking more meat later this afternoon. Have a great day!
. . . 👏 Diana! Common sense & traditional wisdom win the day. Repost @sustainabledish #realfood #yestomeat #sustainable #nutrientdense #satisfying #carnivore #paleo #primal #wapf

How can they possibly justify that something like 35-40 grams of sugar in a bowl of cornflakes and almond milk (likely sweetened too) is a good way to start the day?!?!?! Are these reports funded by Pfizer or Bayer I wonder!

We’ve been harvesting some cows at the farm I live on and so our beef supply has been abundant and I’ve been thinking about how we probably eat in one week all the beef we’re “supposed” to eat for half a year or so and I love it!! I ate beef for dinner almost everyday for the two weeks prior to giving birth and honestly think that if I hadn’t I may not have had the strength to labor for 20+ hours. Yay for nourishing foods!

We live on an island well known for grass fed beef as well as a big cheese factory. All animals are grass fed because it costs too much to bring grain to the island. Lucky for us. We also have about one million Wallabies and they are great to eat as well. Needless to say we eat lots of meat.
