That was taken from this mornings @headspace meditation and boy is it so relevant. I was asked about competing recently...if it’s completely off the cards or just postponed. I’ll be honest in admitting that I’ve gone through a range of feelings since my decision to not compete this October. Catch me in a mood two weeks ago and I probably would have said I was off of it completely. However what I’ve recognised and been reminded of in that time is my pure love for the challenge of getting better, not just how I look at one point in time. Let me be clear that this is different from end gaming which is primarily results focused. Being results focused means locking in to a date and being so determined to look/feel/place a certain way that when that doesn’t happen you are in turn shattered... Results focused can very well be described as missing out on life passing you by.

What I mean instead is that I’m addicted to the day to day, the things that most people don’t see through Instagram, the 1% aspects that all add up. I’m talking about the drive that it takes to turn up on the days when I don’t feel like training, overcoming the mental chatter, the continuous active practice and dedication to show up as a better human being. Staying dedicated to the process means being patient, persistent, and unrelenting in the pursuit of your own personal excellence. It means that you can’t have it all now or even in 12 weeks or maybe even a year.... The process isn’t a comparison or about anyone else other than yourself.

To wrap that up, no I am not finished with competing, because I am a competitor by nature. I would say I am very much “in prep” daily because I have chosen to approach life in this way. If I step back and look at what I could have done differently it would be that I put too much pressure on myself to be “ready” without understanding what all it would take. In saying that @coach__carroll and I are back to the drawing board since my goal remains the same but rather the strategy is changing. Im honing in on my focus and blocking out the noise.

This girl! 🙌🙌🙌 This week I was introduced to dynamic exercises. Wednesday left me sore after medicine ball passes, catches and slams. Today, no soreness, or discomfort with these movements. I asked Rob about engaging in some other lifting aspects, he gave me the green light on using the SSB for squats, Reverse Hack Squat(these are all top loaded), he also said you can go back to doing what you were before surgery, just be mindful, be smart, play safe, and start out light. I then asked the million dollar question, 'When can big girl start running!?' His reply, 'anytime, BUT be aware of the reverb when your feet strike the ground.' Still need to work on achieving 100% External Rotation, I'm at 90%. Abduction also, my fall on the stairs set me back a bit. Overall, he said I'm right where I need to be in terms of my rehab and recovery. Next Wedneday, I see my Ortho. She mentioned last follow up that she might release me from her care if everything was going in the right direction. ☝☝☝ Guess what @shiannmar!? We gonna start running again! Buckle up baby 🏃🏃🏃😂😂😂😈😈😈 💚💚💚 💡💡💡 I love you and the support you've been giving me through this time. A Positive mindset is everything ☝☝☝ it's needed to achieve forward progression!

3️⃣ Honestly don’t even know what these are called 😂 I kept my legs bent as my left hip clicks when I keep my legs straight (any ideas why it clicks? I’ve just been ignoring it lmao) *pretends it’s not an issue*
4️⃣ Ball roll out | Keep core engaged and don’t overarch your back
30 secs on 30 secs off or 12 reps for normal exercises and 20 reps for single side exercises! 3-4 rounds 😄

This post is my accountability post as I just started someone’s guide/program and I hate sticking to people’s stuff because no one knows me better than myself ya know? But I think what’s holding me back is my comfort zone. And, once I finish someone else’s guide, I think I’ll have the guidance & knowledge to make my own! 🖤🧡 Super quick and tasty lunch at home today! I’m always on the go, so I’ll often just experiment with whatever is leftover in the fridge or visit one if my favourite cafes where I know I can get something healthy! Today’s combo is; pre-cooked and reheated grilled chicken and roasted pumpkin, on a bed of spinach, capsicum, mushrooms, walnuts, feta cheese and a little Italian dressing! Good balance of protein, carbohydrates and fats! 🙌🏼 Don’t over complicate food or try to reinvent the wheel. Keeping it simple creates less stress, gives you more time for other things and generally allows for more flexibility in your food later! 🧡🖤

Also thanks to the chalk, that came in just in time. I order liquid chalk. In my opinion I think it's better than the loose chalk. 🤷‍♀️ I only applied the liquid chalk once. Ooh no mess 👌

Tokyo Disco was a life saver for me yesterday as my legs were completely stuffed from Sunday’s stadium stomp.
So pod 1 was my main focus going as hard as I could and pod 2 just doing very slow basic light weight reps. .

I saw a girl at the yesterday who I used to do boxing class with. I hadn’t seen her in a very long time as she had a baby so was out for a while.
It had been a good year or so and when I saw her yesterday she said “Omg you’re a machine now!” Definitely a good little confidence booster when others notice the changes. .

Today I completed my first ever stadium stomp.
Full course, 7600 stairs.
I’m pretty sure I left my hips on the course somewhere.
About half way through I flicked to auto pilot and said to myself “just keep moving Parissa”
Proud to say I smashed it out in under an hour and a half. (1hr 19m)
Start time: 12:34
Finish time: 13:53
Such a great and well organised event.
Great cause and great atmosphere.
Will be back next year that’s for sure.
