Do you ever feel weak? Small? Mundane? Less than? There is a lure of our world to see influence and power as characteristics defined with outward following or charismatic leading. But in Christ, the “average” is made unstoppable.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Our great God uses the things that appear weak in this world to shame, to challenge, and to overcome that which appears strong. Jesus, the man who came, lived a life of sacrifice, healed the marginalized, and dined with the outcast…A man who looked weak and worthless as He was beaten and oppressed... Was in fact, the very image of strength.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Our Savior created a ripple effect of glory everywhere He went. His mercy, grace, kindness, compassion, and unwavering integrity challenged people, taught people, and encouraged them. And in strength and might He defeated sin upon a supposed cross of weakness, only to triumph over it all in the coming days.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
This is our legacy. This is our weakness. This is our seemingly small contribution. One that bring triumphant transformation everywhere.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
And this is not too different with how God uses the second Judge found in today’s passage (SWIPE left to READ). Goodness is it a weird one… But after Israel fell pray yet again to deceit and cultural lures, they were enslaved for 18 long years under King Eglon.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
And so, God raises up Ehud, a man that is specifically mentioned as being a Benjaminite (meaning “son of the right hand”) yet also being left handed. This has little significance to us…but to Ehud, this carried around much shame. Left-handed men were unusable in battle, unfit for war, and considered weak for combat.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Yet this lefty - weak in the sight of Israel - was used to literally shame the seemingly strong. In a crazy turn of events, Ehud kills King Eglon and leads the people into taking over Moab, bringing 80 years of peace  and rest for Israel.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Today, your human weakness is not obstacle for you to overcome, but a divine purpose for God to use. O Lord, teach us to believe this more and more.

Day 18, “Teach me your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.” (Psalm 27:11)
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
In our life, opposition comes at many fronts. But for most of us, the hardest types of opposition come in the form of other humans. Things they have said, done, how they have acted, how they have presented themselves, and what views they broadcast as “truth.”
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Choosing the higher road in life can be dangerous, hard, lonely, and bold. But it is the only way God wants us to live. We cannot control the way people will treat us, but we can control our responses and thoughts toward them. Let me say that again… responses and THOUGHTS.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
King David was a man who suffered the ill treatment of King Saul. At the time of this prayer, he was running for his life by hiding in caves and retreating into the wilderness. David prayed for God to show him the level path and teach him how to walk on it.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
He prayed that God would show the right thing to do in the midst of these unfortunate circumstances. God answered him by saying, “Wait! Wait on Me!” (Psalm 27:14). Waiting on the Lord is courageously trusting God to handle things. Waiting is believing again and again that the real “enemy” is not human. And waiting is what strengthens us to endure more and more.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Prayer for Today:
“ Lord, give me grace to see people as You do.
Not as enemies to fight,
Not as opinions to argue,
And not as agendas to settle.
People oppose me because they oppose You.
And when I leave behind Your mercy in my dealings with them,
I lose the ability to shine who You really are.
And You are the only way broken and burden hearts can find healing.
So today, give me the freedom to not care how I am treated,
And give me the strength to respond with thoughts and actions of glory and peace.
At all times, help me to steward my words with integrity and care.
In Your great name, Amen”

Day 21, “The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’” (Luke 17:5)
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
“Have you ever felt “pushed to your limits” whether spiritually, mentally, emotionally, or physically? This is what many people call ‘brokenness,’ that realization that we cannot achieve God’s highest ideals. The moment when we humbly throw ourselves on God’s mercy and ask for complete help.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
It is when we get to this point that a raw and glorious prayer must come… “O Lord, increase my faith.” When pressed with confusion, exhaustion, weariness, pain, and hopelessness…this is a prayer we must hold on to.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
God wants us as His children to live in utter dependence… to “walk by faith and not by sight.” In our moment of brokenness, we must choose faith rather than reason. We must humbly request for the Lord to open our eyes to the seemingly impossible. Join us in today’s prayer.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Prayer for Today:
“Jesus, increase my faith.
I am broken and undone,
Pressed to my limits,
Needy and alone,
And full of doubt and worry.
Even in my belief, there are holes.
Even in my obedience, there are questions.
And even in my hope, there are concerns.
Awaken me to the reality that You are here.
I need Your strength,
And I need Your work.
Show me that You are doing the impossible.
And remind me that You are not finished.
Father, I believe…
But help me overcome my unbelief.
In Your glory and grace; Amen.”

Glory to Glory // Day 4 (prayer below)
I don’t know what you feel covered by today...fear, worry, anxiety, stress, sin, or confusion. But what I do know is that in Jesus, we are covered with power from on high. We are granted grace that flows deep and wide.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
If we are to walk in boldness, we must recognize the power we have been remade to walk in.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Today’s Prayer //
“Lord, thank You for today.
Thank You for the gift of Your Spirit.
And thank You for Your presence all around me.
Help me to recognize who I am because of You.
And help me to believe in the truth of Your promises.
I move beyond the fears of my past,
Looking to the assurance that Your bring.
And I pray that I can take real ownership,
Of things in my care and of things that You are calling me toward.
I await Your guidance and direction.
Bring me to new things,
And grant me the endurance to complete all that is old.
In Your great name, Amen.”

Glory to Glory // Day 10
“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for me…” (Psalm 66:16). There is a boldness that comes from knowing Jesus. In Acts 8, we read the story of Peter sharing the Gospel with the Ethiopian Eunuch. In it, I am amazed at Peter’s ability to hear the Lord and obey Him without hesitation.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
In one divine conversation, Peter uses what he knows - the simple, yet powerful story and testimony of Jesus - to speak into every fear, lie, and worry within this Eunuch. He “encouraged” this man with the Gospel. In other words, his words supernaturally brought courage into the Eunuch’s heart. Because of Peter’s obedience, a man far from God became a redeemed child of God.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
This is the work that you and I can do when we speak God’s truth into the lives of those around us. And we challenge you to start it NOW… We would love to know: What is one thing that God has done for you recently? We would love for you to let us know in the comments below!

Glory to Glory // Day 12
Love is active. And our love, as Jesus followers, should constantly be on the move, creating a ripple effect to all of those around us.
As Jesus was having His last words with His disciples, He left them with this command: to love one another as He has loved them (as He has loved US). So today…What is one action that God is leading you to do? How can you love as He has shown you love? We would love to know in the comments below!
And - a soft announcement - our shop will close this Sunday at 11:59pm until the first of July (while we transition with our family’s big move)! If you would like to shop one or more of our studies, now is your time! You can find our links in our page. #declareglory #fromglorytoglory

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!! I love this season! Pumpkins and spice, O MY! Even though the past few falls have had some not so great memories attached to them, they also have had some victories! Therefore, I’m working on getting in the spirit and beginning again! Learning to connect new and good memories with this season that I have always loved! How will I do this? By creating beautiful spaces😘And then rearranging them 1736466363 times. Here are just a glimpse of a few small spaces of fall decor I’ve been playing with! Loving orange and aqua tones this season! Being creative and decorating is one of the only things that is a real release for me in my chronic illness and anxiety battle! Anyone else have something that just allows them to feel free?! Decorating, crafting, and being in beautiful spaces is something that actually seems to turn off my nervous system for a few minutes and just ahhh allow me to let go! More on that later! As I’m working on getting my little decor and life blog going, as well as developing what I am creating and selling and sharing with you, I hope to get some decor pics out there as I move towards victory and rewriting my story! #decor #nautical #decorationideas #falldecor #lets-create #homedecor #DIY #fauxflowers #flowerdesign #floralarranging #gallerywall #shelfstyling #pumpkinspice #targetdollarspot #targetfall #rusticlife #oldandchippylove #pumpkindecor #fixerupperstyle #eclecticdecor #eclectichome #fromglorytoglory #victowreath #smallvictories #godisgood #godiscreative #rescuestory #fearless #freedom @theramblingredhead @letteredcottage @husbandhack @thedowntownaly @hopeheals @cottonstem @ourfauxfarmhouse @bethel @southerneclecticdesigns @courtneymbrowning @zachwilliamsmusic

The Lord is peace. May we remember this truth as the fears and doubts of what is next try to take hold.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
This is crutch of Gideon. Fear. Doubt. Insecurity. Inner Lies. He tests the Lord in today’s passage (SWIPE to READ). Notice that God does not stand in opposition to it…In His faithfulness, He goes along to prove Himself able.

Friend, know this: Your scares do not scare God. He is not controlled by your fears or thwarted by your insecurities. He is, however, ready and eager to lead you out of them.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
So…God leads Gideon on a mission of action. One that will reap supernatural fruit. During it, Gideon recognizes the peace and power of the Lord…
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
But notice the role that fear is still playing in his soul… He fears the thoughts and perceptions of others, so he obeys the Lord in the quiet of night. This may seem small…but it is this little seed of doubt that will grow into something greater in the future. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Today, let’s begin with recounting our Lord of Peace. Let’s hand over our fears, not hide them in the shadows. Let’s be honest about our concerns and allow God to show us His presence amidst them. Today, do not let fear plant seeds into you heart. Instead, begin planting in faith, hope, PEACE.

He who called you is faithful… If we are honest, we all struggle with feeling enough. We doubt our callings, second guess our gifts, and fear if our life will have any impact.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
I completely get what is going on in Gideon’s head in today’s reading (SWIPE to READ). The people are in turmoil yet again and the Lord is ready to send out another judge to bring deliverance. So…an angel of the Lord appears to Gideon.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
But - as we read in the story - Gideon responds much like we would. “But sir, how can I deliver Israel? My clan is the weakest, and I am the least in my family.” Often, our confidence and boldness is hurt by what our present “claims” over us instead of what our God “names” us.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
The angel starts off this whole conversation by naming Gideon a “mighty warrior,” but he struggles to believe it because he is settled in the claim spoken over him by his culture; by his “world.”
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
And how quick are we to do the same? Our present situation, past failures, or personal insecurities claim defining lies over us that are in direct opposition with the name spoken into us.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
We are people called by God. And when called by God, He is faithful to bring about that calling more and more. As He tells Gideon, “I will be with you, and you shall [have victory].” Let this be our charge today.

“Remember the Lord in everything you do…” This is the crutch of Israel. For even after 40 years of peace, they still fall into the slavery and lure of sin.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Today’s passage is the preparation for another Judge, Gideon (SWIPE to READ). We read that Isreal has given themselves over to the Midianites, doing (again) what is evil in the sight of the Lord. And as they pursue this life, they forget the glory and truths of Him who is worthy. So the Lord allowed Midian to overpower His people…
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
And the text says “Israel was brought very low because of Midian. And the people cried out for help to the Lord.” So, He sends a prophet to the people. Though unnamed, this prophet was to prepare the way for Israel’s new judge and remind them of WHO the Lord was and WHAT He had don for them.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
He wanted them to “Remember the Lord in everything they did..” So as we end today, let’s pray through this full passage of Proverbs 3, a call to remembrance.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
“Lord, I choose to remember,
Remember Your voice in my past,
Your healing in my heart,
Your deliverance from my sins,
Your hope when all seemed lost,
And Your people when I needed comfort.
I will not believe that I am wiser than I am,
But instead, I will lean on You and Your truth.
I need Your wisdom to live.
I need Your guidance to thrive.
May I obey You consistently today,
For Your goodness is like sweet medicine,
Healing my wounds and easing my pain.
So today, I seek to honor You,
By giving You what is best.
I pay close attention to Your voice,
And lean on Your every correction.
Teach me to live with honor and hope.
In Your glorious name, Amen.”

I didn't always love teaching. Tbh, I didn't grow up with a desire to become a teacher. That desire came after I graduated from guelph and realized I didn't want to be a pharmacist. With absolutely no idea of what to do with my life I prayed for guidance and Abba said 'teaching' and for a few days I thought to myself, are you serious? But I decided to take a little step of faith and do it.
And I quickly fell in love with it. I love teaching because I learned to see people with a new set of eyes - imago dei. And I love teaching others everything that I possibly know (not just school stuff and not just to kids). Giving people the bit of knowledge that I know so they may become much greater (and better at things) than I am, oh that fills my heart with joy.
One example is with earrings. I taught a few people the very little bit I knew and I'm getting to watch them grow in this skill and cheer them on from the other side of the world. And I know they will become so much better than me at this. And that, is the best reward. #fromglorytoglory
ps: the earrings in picture 2 were made by my little sister, love seeing her creativity come out as she plays with clay
pps: if I could make my feed all pictures of erin and earrings, i totally would 😍😍😍

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And our role as His people is to declare that glorious truth, praising Him for His presence and sharing the news of Him to all.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
And this is exactly what Deborah and Barak paused to do in today’s reading (SWIPE to READ). After leading Israel into victory, we now are led into a song of praise and honor. And the purpose of this first section is simple: To give voice to how GOD’s presence CHANGED everything.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
So the wording states again and again… “When YOU did this, this happened.” “When YOU went out, the earth trembled. When YOU marched, the heavens dropped.” And what Deborah is doing here is changing the culture of the Israelites again. She is showing that without the Lord, victory would be naught. She is “pointing” the glorious blame to Him for all to hear and believe.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
When He went out, freedom came in. When He stepped up, heaven came down. When He was brought in, the earth quaked with wonder. So as we end, join us today in bringing this song to the Lord as a prayer for today.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
“Jesus, grant my heart a willingness
To be led by Your Spirit,
And guided by Your will.
I bless You in my waiting,
And I bless You in my victory.
Teach me to speak and sing,
Making a life of melody that rings out YOU.
May my actions sing aloud my dependence.
For when YOU stepped out and showed Yourself,
Freedom came in and found a home in me.
Jesus, when You found me in my pain,
The Heavens reign down.
And when YOU act,
The universe moves to Your will.
May I do the same today.
May I live as a response
To Your glory and grace.
As the mountains quake before You,
My heart jumps in expectation and thankfulness.
To You be the glory, Amen.”

2 CORINTHIANS 3
.
I’m pretty hard on myself most of the time. I’m great at extending grace to others. But when it comes to me, I have a much harder time. I don’t have a lot of patience with myself, and I don’t tolerate my own mistakes at all.
.
But the Lord very sweetly reminded me today that I’ve got to give myself grace, and he also showed me why.
.
In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul says that there is freedom wherever the Spirit of the Lord is. In the KJV, it actually says “liberty.” And it means that as believers, we have complete liberty of access to the Lord. When the Holy Spirit comes to live in us, we no longer have a barrier between us and God. Jesus’ work on the cross plus the presence of the Spirit in us makes us holy in the eyes of the Lord. And as holy people, we can directly access our holy God.
.
This is where he really started speaking to me. Because we have direct access to God, we can have a personal, intimate relationship with him. And it’s through this relationship that life change and transformation happen. And if you keep reading into verse 18, you’ll see why I need to learn to give myself grace.
.
It says we are “being transformed.” That’s not a one-time thing. That’s an ongoing process. That means I’m not perfect, and I never will be. God is constantly working on me, and if I’m not giving myself the grace and patience to go through that process, I’m actually doubting the Lord and the way he works.
. Yet he wasn’t done yet. Keep reading. Paul says we are transformed from one degree of glory to another. The Lord changes us one tiny step at a time. I can’t change me. Only he can. And if I really believe that, which I do, I have to accept it on his timetable. I can’t force it. I can’t speed it up. I can’t control it. So, why do I beat myself up over things that aren’t even in my control? Again, when I do that, I’m doubting the Lord and the way he works.
.
Bottom line? I’m so very thankful for the precious relationship I have with the Lord. And he’s asking me to fully trust that relationship and the work he’s doing through it.
.
Lord, I trust you. Wholly. Fully. Completely. Please help me live that out in everything I do.

The Lord is indeed going out before you. What a truth to cling to this morning. He is going out for us this week. He’s walked the path ahead. He knows the situations that are coming. He’s paved the way for the conversations that have yet to happen. And He has plans to make things good, glorious, and righteous.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
In today’s Judges passage (SWIPE to READ), we find our first female judge, Deborah. Under her leadership, Israel experiences great victory and freedom. She is a woman of valor, courage, and might. But what I love most about Deborah is her faith.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
In confidence, she knew the victory was theirs. And this knowledge came not from her own strength and might, but from her faith in God‘s glory. He was the Deliverer. And though she showed up for the battle, though she led the people in honor, she knew that the Victor was not of human origin.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
And this is what we need to remember today. There is nothing that we must take, nothing that we must prove, and no victory that we must force. For the Lord, our God, takes and gives, proves and makes, and conquers and delivers.
We are called, therefore, to just show up to battle, lead in a way that honors the Lord and His plan, and faithfully trust that He will do the rest. He is going before us. He is preparing the way. And life is changing because of it.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
But goodness is this hard to remember. “Jesus, teach us to see Your presence before us more than any concerns, fears, false desires, or selfish plans. Teach us to not fight for validation, but to fight with eyes of faith and expectancy.”

And life is changing because of it. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ But goodness is this hard to remember. “Jesus, teach us to see Your presence before us more than any concerns, fears, false desires, or selfish plans. Teach us to not fight for validation, but to fight with eyes of faith and expectancy.”

Your human weakness is not an obstacle for you to overcome, but a divine purpose for God to use. We serve a Lord who brings divine power and might through what the world considers weak. “O Jesus, teach us to live lives of surrender, not lives that overcompensate with strife or envy...”

Each day is an opportunity to grow, learn and challenge ourselves to be better than we were the day before.
And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.
2 Cor 3:18

We were freed from sin and death so that we may live out that freedom. And the people of Israel had the same mission. “You are free - so live like it.” But as we read, the people of God inter-marry with other cultures.
The issue in this is the unspoken loss of all the lessons, teachings, and blessings of the Lord in Israel’s past. As they began new lives with new people in new places, the new overcame the seemingly old. And so, “the people of God did evil…they forgot the LORD.” And in this realm of forgotten freedom, the Israelites were found in slavery, abuse, and despair. Cushan-rishathaim was a “doubly evil” man, given his name from those who feared him. And for eight years, Israel’s freedom seemed to be as forgotten as Israel’s God. But not everyone had forgotten…
For in strength and might, our first Judge appears on the scene, Othniel. He was Caleb’s nephew, a man of honor and obedience. We have seen his strength and leadership in fighting past battles in the book of Joshua, and the story infers that Othniel remained faithful even in Israel’s unfaithfulness. May we pause and consider the faith and integrity of a man who stood at odds with the darkness plaguing his nation.
But what stands out most in this short record of deliverance is found in verse 10… Even though Othniel was a man well-versed in war. Even though he had led armies with strength and might. And even though many leaders of other nations had fallen under his hand…God makes sure to let us know that this deliverance was not by Othniel’s power alone. “The Spirit of the Lord was upon him…And he went out.” Friends, can we just transition this devotion to the fact that the Spirit of the Lord is upon you today? Can we sit and truly remember the power and strength of the Lord - that is now WITHIN His people? He is not asking you to remain faithful in your own strength. And He is not requiring bold actions to come from your own might. No, He has freed you, given you His Spirit, and now longs for you to KNOW that and GO OUT.
And because of Othniel’s awareness of Yahweh, Israel’s 8 years of pain turned into 40 years of peace. So - may we live out freedom, hand-in-hand with the Spirit of freedom.

We need an awakening this morning…For there is a deceptive pattern that has played itself out in the lives of God’s people throughout history. And you and I are not immune to it’s lure.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
We will call it “The Cycle,” a habitual life-style that is on display in our Judges passage today (Swipe LEFT to READ). It goes like this: SIN (to) OPPRESSION (to) REPENTANCE (to) DELIVERANCE (and to) PEACE … (but then back to) SIN (to) OPPRESSION (and so on)…
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
It is the sad story of the human condition. We overlook compromise, give into the corruption of our world, and awaken the lust in our heart. And it leads to a life of oppression. For the Israelites, their lives were repeatedly plundered and abused by the other nations. Which led them again and again to raw repentance…
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
And in repentance and surrender, God’s grace was made physical in the life of a Judge - a human “deliverer” who came into the mess of that Israel had created and cleaned it up, often in the most bloodiest, strangest, and fallen of ways themselves. But deliverance did come…and with it, hope, peace, and boldness. That is, until the cycle began all over again.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
And as we will discover in the coming days, this cycle is the overwhelming chord tied within this whole book. But as we pray for an awakening (in the comments below), let us recognize the why. Why team Isaiah 52 up with this section of Judges? You see, though our Deliverer - Jesus - was unlike any other Judge; though He was perfect, incorruptible, and righteous; and though His deliverance is forever…we still find ourselves lured into “The Cycle.”
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
We overlook sins and it causes oppression, which leads to pain. And when that pain is finally too much, we seek surrender… But what if we could remain awake during the experience of Peace? What if we remained ready to battle the sin of our past, the lures of today, and the deception of our culture? What if we caught sins before they became oppressive?
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
The grand difference between us and Israel is that our Deliverer is not just “coming” when we need deliverance. No, He came…and He still “is.” Our Deliverer is with us, creating for us daily opportunities to find deliverance...
