Okay - full confession, I 100% thought hypnobirthing was something for real hippy types and that it involved being in a trance before I was pregnant. I had no clue what medical hypnosis actually entailed and assumed it was not something that would work for me.
How wrong was I! Hypnobirthing, using the hypnosis tracks on the GentleBirth app was one of my best birth preparation tools and really helped me have a positive, calm and relaxed birth.
In simple terms, our subconscious mind makes up about 90% of your mind even though we’re actually a lot more aware of our conscious brain. The subconscious mind is controlling all your involuntary bodily functions, our emotions etc. and so in order for our biology to respond optimally we want our subconscious brain to view birth as a normal, positive physiological event and respond as such - not as a crisis or panic situation and send our body into fight or flight! (Hello adrenaline!) In order to do this though we have to “let go” of any fears or anxieties we may hold about birth and rewire those neural pathways to view birth positively. Our subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is vividly imagined, so if you’ve been watching too many over dramatized birth shows, that’s currently your minds “reality”. Pregnancy, with increased neuroplasticity in the brain, is one of the prime times to do this work to rewire your brain for a more positive and relaxed outlook.
Using hypnobirthing we firstly allow ourselves to relax enough for our hypnosis tracks to infuse your mind with the positive birth mindset, and it’s so so easy. Basically you just need to commit to lying on your bed for twenty minutes every day while pregnant and drift off into a blissfully relaxed state - and it’s an evidence based way to improve your birth experience - what’s not to love!

I used to be into bands which worked out fine when my activity was dancing, but now that it's swimming I needed to actually lift some weights. What do you find yourself reaching for the most? I'm drawn to admire an athletic build which makes sense why I love me some kettlebells. By design, they encourage an athletic response due to ballistics and momentum, and bc of said momentum they demand constant stabilization which works my intrinsic muscles much more efficiently than other exercises I've done that do the same, like pilates, even my beloved dancing. I use kettlebells for my triceps, most of my shoulder work, lats, squats, and lunges... and have the most muscle definition I've had in my whole life, while attaining it being so full in pregnancy. Last Thursday everything changed. I was not feeling well at all. I had some “symptoms” in the past few weeks but never thought anything about it.
On my Birthday I missed my next expected time of the month but didn’t think anything of it because I’m irregular. -
I decided to say.. screw it! I bought a dollar store test just to see! When I saw the line show up IMMEDIATELY my reaction was “nooo freaking way” -
It was absolutely shocking, and a very welcomed surprise. -
Finally getting answers! -
I was getting so freaking frustrated with my bloat! Like this bloat is unreal! Bloat plus extra skin from previous pregnancies == looking 6 months pregnant already lol! -
I am hoping it will level out soon! -
It’s going to be a hard mental battle! After losing 100lbs — growing again is going to really fight with my mindset! -
I am so happy that this time around I have the tools I need to have a happy, healthy, fit pregnancy! -
So thankful for our Netflix of fitness and our pre/post pregnancy videos and pregnancy workouts for each trimester! -
It’s going to be a long road! I am struggling. I slept 8 hours, send the kids off and fell asleep another 3 hours and still exhausted lol.
I am taking a break from my more intense workouts as I cannot breathe!!! However I know I need to move my body!!! I am thankful I got certified in our nutrition program #upfworks because I will have the tools to stay healthy during this pregnancy and help other mommas do the same!!!! -

Posting this pic of me breastfeeding Maddox in Vegas to let you guys know I just posted my travelling with two under two blog post talking all about flying with babies and what my must haves /recommendations were for staying in a hotel with two babes!
And also to share a few little things about BF in general.
1. I breastfeed in public: Yep, I whip my boob out in public without a cover to feed my child, even in Vegas - & im sharing it on SM in hopes of continuing to not only normalize BF🤱, but to normalize BF in public- because it’s crazy to me that women are still being shamed for feeding their child in public. To think this was ILLEGAL in many states at one point BLOWS MY MIND. & that feeding our babies cows milk was more normalized than giving our babe milk produced by our own bodies? IDK but that’s cray & hopefully by sharing I can empower other BF mamas, & women in general to let go of the shame and guilt other ppl may place upon you for choosing to breastfeed your baby.
2. I breastfeed 2 babies: i get this question SO often- how do I have enough milk to breastfeed my 19 month old & 7 month old baby? Our bodies are incredible and our milk supply is created based on a supply and demand system(for the avg person- not for ppl who are unable to produce milk) so my body adjusted and started generating a larger supply because I had 2 babies on my boobs all day- which made my body create more milk to meet the needs of the two of them! I also EAT enough calories and drink tons of water(essential for supply).
3. I plan to breastfeed my babies until they decide to start weaning themselves: Contrary to popular belief you don’t HAVE to wean your babies at 12M old. A lot of ppl do this , & that’s completely your choice, but I have chosen not to. Daxton loves boobie time & I didn’t want to take it away. It’s also recommended by the WHO to breastfeed until at least 24M minimum! No shame if you stopped before- just spreading awareness because the dairy industry will have you believe otherwise in order to profit off of converting babies to cows milk as early as possible!
