One of the most common mistakes I see people do when it comes to undergoing a physique transformation is trying to change too many things all at once. Going from the couch to daily workouts, from fast food 8 days a week to zero carbs, etc.
For the vast majority, this is far too stressful. It’s an unrealistic expectation bordering on the pathological to expect someone with a background in overeating to implement a bodybuilder’s diet overnight. Adopting a new relationship with food and exercise takes time and experience.
On your first day of work at a new job, do you know exactly how to execute your new role to the point of perfection? Of course not.
You continue to show up day after day and learn the skills necessary to execute your new position effectively and efficiently.
Physique transformations happen the same way. When it comes to creating meaningful change in our lives, it’s important that we slooow down 🐢 , take our time, and learn the lessons.
Repetition is the mother of skill. The only way to get better at something is by performing that skill consistently. You have to practice over and over again. Rep after rep, meal after meal, day after day.
And when you have a setback (because you WILL have setbacks) dust yourself off and keep going. No big deal. It’s part of the learning process. You’re always just one bite away from getting back on track.

I am still not exactly where I want to be but I am a lot closer than I used to be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I only started losing weight in September 2016. So this essentially is a 3 year transformation picture. If I didn’t have nights out, cakes and biscuits I may have gotten here faster but then I wouldn’t have enjoyed life and had fun memories to look back on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

😱 5 years ago 😱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This came up on my timehop today. The picture on the right was me in the gym this morning!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know I have changed over the last few years but it’s only when you look at photos you realise how much!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am still not exactly where I want to be but I am a lot closer than I used to be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I only started losing weight in September 2016. So this essentially is a 3 year transformation picture. If I didn’t have nights out, cakes and biscuits I may have gotten here faster but then I wouldn’t have enjoyed life and had fun memories to look back on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If the journey isn’t enjoyable you won’t stick at it. You don’t want to look back and think how miserable your journey was and how you turned down nights out, pizza and cake to get there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fitness is a never ending journey, you get to one point and then you want to go that bit further.
