Join us sisters for a timely think space on Freedom of Expression. "Participation meets one’s need to matter, be counted, be heard, to think aloud, to connect, or protest, to be understood, to create art out of sorrow and social decay, to imagine the future, to uphold truth, to praise your personal God, to protect what you value, to explore the forbidden, to use humour to cope, and write poetry to comprehend the banality of being. We construct a narrative of our lives by speaking our truth.
Which of these could you tolerate being denied? Is there any person, dead or alive, you would trust with deciding what you can read, hear, see, share, or create?
One person’s caustic commentary is another’s civil discussion. Someone’s humour is blasphemy to another. There’s always something “problematic” in public discourse, whether in feminist circles, casual family banter, or academia.
At this gathering we will deep dive into 6 main themes and unpack 3 incidents each (Worldwide & in India) to examine the challenges of Freedom of Expression.
Without opposing views ideas stagnate and decay. They may even begin to replicate the past rather than define the future. Our very conception of the world could be falsified in one generation." Event page:
