Why is there a zero waste store on Veeg? Read below and we’ll tell you.... Introducing Veeg 8 of 10 : Harriet’s of Hove
Offer: 10% discount
Opened in August last year by a nurse with a plastic-free bug-bare on an eco mission (Harriet) and her partner, Mr Harriet...er, Mihram; Harriet’s of Hove is all about reducing the waste we produce by...just living.
Top up your shampoo, washing powder, nuts, nutritional yeast...beer...y’know, all the household essentials that you go through on a regular basis and, at best, recycle the packaging they come in. Just take a container and fill your boots / basket / bottle.
So why have we got a plastic-free pantry on Veeg?
Because, for one, as plastic decomposes in our seas, it becomes toxic (bad for the planet). When plastic particles get ingested by sealife, they die (bad for the planet and the animals). This then becomes a toxic food chain (bad for those of us that eat fish...and animals...and the planet). And if anyone knows anyone who likes a sea swim with the dregs of a Saino’s carrier wrapped around their big toe, we would like to meet them.
Vicky, MD of @humaneleagueuk loves filling her boots chez Harriet.
So, in short, Harriets of Hove is on Veeg because of what they are doing for our people and planet and we want to encourage a look at sustainability and health from all perspectives.
So pop in, have a chat with the staff, fill up a jar or two and use your Veeg card.
